Family Catechesis

Parents are the first teachers  or first catechists of their children in the ways of faith.  In our family life we hand on a Catholic way of life through daily prayer, eating together, worshipping together on Sunday and through study and discussion.

When children attend a Catholic school they are taught religious education as part of the curriculum.  Religious education is different from immediate preparation for the celebration of a sacrament.

The adage, ‘faith is caught not taught’ is definitely true.  Parents are encouraged to remember that we hand on faith Sunday after Sunday.  The pastoral staff at Holy Family Parish is prepared to assist parents as they hand on faith to their children.

You are encouraged to check the bulletin regularly for suggestions for Family Prayer and ideas for celebrating the liturgical season. If you follow us on Facebook there are regular updates.  Visit Facebook find Holy Family Catholic Church, Bolton, and like us to receive regular updates.

Vitamin F- Faith Nourishment

On the first Tuesday of the month from 7:15 – 9:00 pm we offer Vitamin F – Faith Nourishment for all members of the parish.  The gathering is a time of fellowship, discussion, catechesis and prayer.  The Tuesday evening session is an opportunity for each of us to continue to grow in our own faith and understanding of living a Catholic lifestyle.

Ongoing Religious Education

For children who attend public, private or alternative schools the parents are responsible for providing opportunities for ongoing religious education. Families wishing to provide ongoing religious education in a systematic way are asked to contact the parish catechist for more details.
